In September 2008 I was visiting Pregnant Mare Rescue in Watsonville, Ca. I was spending time enjoying the horses and was also getting to know one little colt that I was hoping to adopt. It was mid afternoon on a very warm late summer day and the horses were all napping and swishing flies. Lips were drooping, hind legs were cocked, and tails were swishing. The young colt was buddied up with an older gelding enjoying a peaceful and safe moment.
