the back story ...

Blue Horse Design started off on the kitchen table with a sketch pad, pencil, pen or whatever else was handy at the time. Many a utility bill has been mailed with pretty, or not so pretty, renditions of abstract horses bordering the amount due. Always practicing and always abstract. I started with abstract shapes, bright colors and images that were slightly unusual. While I still love the slightly unusual, I have ventured into browns and more subtle colors. I also love working with fiber and photography.

At around the same time I was trying to think of a way to somehow help horses that were in need - it was all pretty vague back then but the idea began to progress and gradually Blue Horse Design began to take shape.  I had finally found a way to combine my equine doodles with helping horses. I am now able to contribute to horse rescue on a small but consistent basis and am proud to donate sometimes up to 100% of each purchase to horse rescue.  It may seem like pennies, (and sometimes it is!) but it all adds up. In the meantime, I am learning about horses, rescues, laws, attitudes, relationships,  and how even the smallest acts can be a big step in the direction of positive change.

now ...

Blue Horse Design continues to support horse rescue, and we are very proud to be a sponsor for Blue Horse Rescue. Blue Horse Rescue received it's 501(c)3 in August 2012.
